A year ago this week I was hunched over a dollhouse and its tiny parts and continued to do so for a few weeks straight. The dollhouse makeover was part of a contest we participated with Emily Henderson in (more about that here), but nothing really ever came of it. What a crazy time – right smack dab in the middle of the holidays. I will say it’s brought me many blog readers and for that I am so thankful. I met many of you through dollhousing. Anyone else still crafting tiny things for their mini house? I do miss it. It was instant gratification to paint, refinish and decorate a room in a few hours versus a few months.
The dollhouse was huge – I purchased it from a friend for $20. It started like this:
And by the end, it looked like a little person lived there:
Here are some of my favorite pictures and rooms from the project:
What a crazy project. I look back on these photos and wonder how I did it.
I wish I could say the dollhouse is still displayed proudly in my home, but it’s downstairs in the basement. All its pretty parts and furniture are in a cardboard box and the house itself is acting as my tool catchall. So sad. One day when we buy a larger house, I will set it up all nice and pretty. It makes me happy to look back on these pictures though.

If you want to skip the words, here’s the dollhouse photo set on Flickr. 74ish photos of my work on the house.
